All Things Marcellus

What if your deed and proposed Oil and Gas Lease do NOT accurately reflect the property acreage of your property?

Several of our Oil and Gas lease clients have obtained surveys of their properties indicating that their parcel contains more acreage than reflected in their deed and the Oil and Gas Lease they are offered.

When this discrepancy occurs, we offer the client the legal service of preparing and filing a “Corrective Deed” reflecting the increased acreage.

The filing of the Corrective Deed has allowed our oil and gas clients to be paid up-front bonus money for their entire acreage.

This can result in a significant increase in the oil and gas lease bonus payment and may have a lasting impact on future royalty payments if the property is subsequently involved in a unit or pool of gas production.

The Clark Law Firm offers this service to oil and gas clients for a very reasonable fee in effort to continue to protect their rights and property. Contact us.

PA Gas Leasing Poll

As a landowner do you favor a "Severence Tax" based on production volume or an "Impact Fee" based on the number of wells drilled?
Whether and how Pennsylvania should tax the natural gas industry remains a hotly debated issue:
Severance Tax - with revenue shared with the entire state. (11 votes)
Severance Tax - with the majority or all revenue directed to counties impacted by drilling. (22 votes)
Impact Fee - with revenue shared with the entire state. (0 votes)
Impact Fee - with the majority or all revenue directed to counties impacted by drilling. (12 votes)
I favor no severance tax or impact fee. (10 votes)
